Anderlecht Faces Competition for Dennis Praet’s Return

RSC Anderlecht is reportedly interested in the return of Dennis Praet. The midfielder can come over on a free transfer from Leicester City. The Purple & White immediately suffered a serious setback.

Journalist Sacha Tavolieri says that there is competition from Torino and that Praet currently seems to prefer a return to Italy. The Red Devil previously played in Serie A with Sampdoria and Torino.

Transfer-free

Praet has been under contract with Leicester City for the past few seasons, which paid just under twenty million in 2019. Last season, he was promoted to the Premier League with The Foxes, but Praet did not play a major role in that. Partly due to injuries, the midfielder only played nineteen league games with one assist.

Praet has seen better times and is now looking for a club to revive his career. In the past, a return to the Jupiler Pro League was mentioned. Antwerp, among others, is said to have approached him, but in the end nothing came of it.

Old love

Can a return to old love Anderlecht convince Praet? It certainly seems to be a difficult assignment for the Purple & White. Praet has his eyes on a transfer to Serie A and with Torino, another ex-club is immediately interested.

Praet is a youth product of KRC Genk, but ended up at Anderlecht early. There he broke through and got a transfer to Sampdoria. The Italians put eight million euros on the table. Praet was able to collect fifteen caps for the Red Devils in which he managed to score two goals.
