Andre Agassi before Wimbledon on love and hate for tennis and the Laver Cup

The simple answer: Love is of course a much healthier and more sustainable source of motivation than hate. However, I don’t see hate as the opposite of love, but fear. It took me almost my entire career to find my way from fear to love. And the world was able to watch me in this process. It was only when I found out for myself why I play professional tennis that I was able to start loving what I was doing. In my case, this was closely linked to the possibility of changing children’s lives, for example by giving them better access to education. It was only then that I understood how misguided my hate was.
