In the opening match of the 48th edition of the America’s Cup, the reigning tournament and world champions Argentina beat Canada 2-0.
At the Atlanta stadium in Georgia, captain Lionel Messi’s national team took the lead in the 49th minute with a goal by Julian Alvarez assisted by Alexis Mac Allister. The second goal came in the 88th minute with Lautaro Martinez’s goal following a pass from Messi.
