AS Salé Crowned Men’s Basketball Throne Cup Champions, Majd Tangier Wins Women’s Title

AS Salé (ASS) won the Men’s Basketball Throne Cup (2023-2024 season), beating Maghreb Fès (MAS) with a score of 70 to 53, in the final played on Saturday at the Ibn Yassine hall in Rabat .

The Corsairs du Bouregreg, who won their 12th title, punched their ticket to the final by eliminating Lixus Larache (89-76/77-72), while the MAS had ousted Ittihad from Tangier (64-63/65- 70).

In a press statement, ASS coach Labib Hemraoui indicated that this victory is the result of the patience and tactical discipline of the players, during a tough match.

He explained that his team focused on the defensive aspect and worked to widen the gap during the third quarter, to seal the fate of the game in its favor.

The women’s title went to Majd Tangier, after its victory against Kawkab of Marrakech (63-54).

The Tangier team had validated its ticket for the final at the expense of Moghreb de Tétouan (first leg 82-58, return 46-51), while the club from the ocher city had overcome Ittihad de Tangier (first leg 56-51). 67, return 68-61).

In a statement to MAP, Tarik Bougtiba, coach of the Tangier club, crowned for the second time after 2023, indicated that this title crowns the efforts made by the players over a season. He affirmed that the technical staff carefully analyzed the opposing team’s play, to be able to play on its weak points.
