“I get paid by Ducati, I race for Ducati, and for the moment, Valencia will continue to be my home, Ducati. I will give 100% to try to win,” he said.
The one from San Sebastián de los Reyes regretted that the last race in Mugello was “a fateful weekend full of things”, although he was not aware of Ducati’s change of decision, which was planning to bet on him in the official team to accompany Bagnaia , and finally ended up opting for Marc Márquez.
“I arrived at Mugello with certain ideas, with certain information that changed a lot during the weekend and as soon as the race finished I understood that perhaps it was not so clear, so I had to make a decision. The Madrid native confessed that “after four years of trying to get to the official bike”, he understood that “it was not the best decision for Ducati, and that Marc (Márquez) was the best one”. “I took the best opportunity I could and I think I will be much happier in the coming years and I will be in a factory team, which was my dream”, he stressed.

I felt a bit frustrated because I had been hoping to get there for a long time, and in the end it didn’t happen. The Prima Pramac Racing rider clarified that Aleix Espargaró had no influence on his decision. “I don’t want to make the decision of my life based on someone else. I certainly try to gather information and understand where I’m going to make a decision, but the decision I made was the one I felt immediately,” he said.
“Then I started to think, ‘I’m going to make this decision based on my heart and I think I’ll feel happy there and when someone is happy, it’s quick, that’s why I made that decision. And the issue of contracts also helped me because we share manager with Aleix, but the truth is that the decision depended 100% on me,” he commented.
