One of the top duels will take place on Tuesday (July 2) at 9 p.m. Then Austria and Turkey will play their European Championship round of 16 in Leipzig. European Championship round of 16 on Tuesday: Austria meets Türkiye
The Austrians are one of the teams in the best form at the European Championship. After the opening defeat against France, the ÖFB team beat both Poland and the Netherlands. The result: Austria moves into the round of 16 as group winners. And this despite the fact that the team of German coach Ralf Rangnick was drawn into one of the most difficult groups of the European Championship.
After their opening victory against Georgia, Turkey had to worry about progressing until the end. After their defeat against Portugal, the Turks won their last group match against the Czech Republic and celebrated their place in the round of 16. The last time the two nations met in an international match was in March. Austria won 6-1. The winner of the match will then face the winner of the match between Romania and the Netherlands in the European Championship quarter-finals on July 6 at 9 p.m. in Berlin.

Bad news for many football fans: The European Championship round of 16 match between Austria and Turkey will not be broadcast on free TV. Only MagentaTV will show the game live. Telekom has secured the broadcasting rights to all games of the 2024 European Championship. The match on Tuesday is the last of a total of five exclusive games.
The MagentaTV team includes presenter Johannes B. Kerner, experts Tabea Kemme and Michael Ballack, and commentator Wolff Fuss. (nwo)
