Baja California Native Martha Sandoval to Swim in European Cup as Olympics Preparation

MEXICO CITY.- Baja California native Martha Sandoval will swim this Saturday in the Women’s 10K of the European Cup in Barcelona, ​​as part of her training on the road to the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.

After a brief stay in Calella, Spain, with her coach Paulo Salas, Martha Sandoval this Friday was recognized for the 10K circuit, as was Daniel Castillo, also from Mexico.

For the open water specialist, the European Cup will be the last warm-up event for the Olympic Games, where she will debut on August 8 in the French capital.

According to the team’s training programme, after swimming in the European Cup, they will travel to Livigno, Italy, this Sunday, where they will do a three-week high altitude camp, before settling in Naples, at sea level.

Martha Sandoval and Paulo Salas will travel to the “City of Light” on August 5 for their Olympic event; unlike them, Daniel Castillo, who is preparing for the Junior World Open Water Championship, will return to the capital of Baja California.
