Bam Adebayo Signs Multi-Million Dollar Extension with Miami Heat

The Miami Heat and Bam Adebayo are already working together on a multi-million dollar extension. Shams Charania, author of information, estimates a contract at a rate of 166 million dollars for three years. That is, a maximum contract in quantity, although not in extension. In fact, he would end up earning more for that three-year contract than what he will end up receiving with the one signed in 2021 for five years: 163 million. Adebayo ends his current relationship with the Heat in June 2025.

A summer is approaching in Miami with more doubts than usual. Especially because of Jimmy Butler’s situation, which they still cannot resolve a year after his star becomes a free agent. In Florida they have a certain fear of long-term commitment to a player who will turn 35 this year and who is coming off a season marked by physical discontinuity.

What they are clear about is that Adebayo, a perpetual finalist for the Defender of the Year award, is the pillar on which to continue building teams that compete for everything year after year. Of course, he signs it for three years and for that figure he has the trick for both. With 27 years remaining, the center is in a position to sign a new big contract within two years. On the other hand, by signing this summer and not next, Miami prevents Adebayo from being eligible for the supermaximum of $346 million for five years. In this way, Bam will end up making up only 28% of the team’s salary space for 2029.
