Jan Raunigger from the Traiskirchen Grasshoppers is one of five Austrians taking part in the elite program for talents.

Jan Raunigger, who just turned 18, has been given a great honor: He was selected by Major League Baseball as one of five Austrians to take part in an elite program for young European talents as part of the league’s London Series.

He will work with professional coaches in London from June 3rd to 9th, together with three colleagues from Wiener Neustadt and a player from Attnang Athletics, and will be able to demonstrate his talent in training sessions and test matches. This event will attract numerous scouts from all over the world who will watch the European talents and possibly spot the next top star.

One of the highlights of the week will be the visit to the major league game between the Philadelphia Phillies and the New York Mets on Saturday, which will be played in London as part of regular league operations. Raunigger has been an integral part of the Traiskirchen Grasshoppers Bundesliga team and the Austrian U18 national team since last year. He has established himself there both as a shortstop and as a pitcher.
