Belgian Arrows easily beat the Philippines and advanced to the eighth finals of the World Cup of Darts against the Netherlands

Netherlands opponent in the 1/8 finals, identical route last year beckons

The draw for the round of 16 of the World Cup of Darts was not kind to Dimitri Van den Bergh (PDC-8) and Kim Huybrechts (PDC-36) on Friday night. The Belgian Arrows were faced with the Netherlands as their opponent.

As the third seed, the Netherlands was free in the group stage. Last year, Van den Bergh and Huybrechts also faced the Netherlands in the eighth finals and then they defeated Danny Noppert (PDC-12) and Dirk Van Duijvenbode (PDC-17) 8-7, but this time Noppert has Van den Berghs’ black beast’ Michael van Gerwen (PDC-2) at his side.

If the Netherlands wins, they will play in the quarter-finals against Italians Massimo Dalla Rosa (no ranking) and Michele Turetta (PDC-133) or Australians Damon Heta (PDC-11) and Simon Whitlock (PDC-49). The latter were defeated 8-7 by the Belgians in the quarter-finals last year, who were then eliminated 8-7 in the semi-finals by Wales, who are also potential opponents in the semi-finals.

It could well be exactly the same road to the final for the Belgian duo.
