Willem II will look Belgian next season. While the Dutch club already has coach Peter Maes and technical director Tom Caluwé, two other Belgians will be added to the staff for next season. Kristof Aelbrecht is Maes’ new assistant, while Stefan Winters becomes performance coach.
Aelbrecht, 43, previously played for PSV’s youth team. He was also an assistant at Fortuna Sittard and head coach of TOP Oss, a Dutch second division club. He was an assistant at Club Brugge this season.
Winters, 38, has already worked with Maes in Sint-Truiden, Beerschot and Lommel.
Maes and Willem II were crowned 2023-2024 champions and achieved promotion to the Eredivisie, the Dutch top division.
