Benjamin Ouellet and Dominic Guimond-Proulx Take Over as Shareholders of Volkswagen Rimouski

Benjamin Ouellet and Dominic Guimond-Proulx become the new shareholders of Volkswagen Rimouski. This business transaction, which follows a succession plan put in place for several months, was recently finalized.

The duo takes over from Pierre-Luc and Étienne Harvey, the sons of the company’s founder, Serge Harvey.

“I am particularly proud to be able to ensure the future of this family business alongside my long-time friend, Benjamin. It was built with passion by the Harvey family, whom I deeply admire and respect. It is a real honor for me to take over and to have had Pierre-Luc and Étienne as mentors in recent years,” explains Mr. Guimond-Proulx.

The current Volkswagen Rimouski team will remain in place. It has 25 employees and sells an average of 450 vehicles per year.

From Automobiles du Golfe to Volkswagen Rimouski

In January 2000, Serge Harvey acquired Automobiles du Golfe, which became Volkswagen Rimouski.

The dealership then moved to a new location located in the heart of the Shopping City, according to the Volkswagen concept. Pierre-Luc and Étienne Harvey took over in January 2011.

A long-time employee, Dominic Guimond-Proulx rose through the ranks, going from auto mechanic technician to technical advisor, then to sales advisor and finally to sales director.
