Berrettini at the ATP Stuttgart, Italian tennis player returns to the court after injury

Two months after the last time, Matteo Berrettini he is ready to return to the field. The Roman will be at the start of the ATP 250 Stuttgart, scheduled from 10 to 16 June, to be followed live on Sky Sport and streaming on NOW. Thanks to the forfeit of the Australian Vukic, Matteo he entered directly into the draw without taking advantage of a wild card. The Italian player trained on the synthetic grass pitches of the Milan Masters on Thursday morning, followed by Alessandro Bega and Umberto Rianna. In the afternoon, however, he is expected in Germany. It will be there first approach on the grass for Berrettini who will thus begin the process of approaching Wimbledon. From Monte-Carlo to Stuttgart

Berrettini he hasn’t played an official match since April 9th, when he lost in Monte-Carlo on his debut against Kecmanovic after the triumph in Marrakech. Struck by tonsillitis and slowed down by the after-effects, Matteo then missed the entire clay court season. “I don’t feel ready to play more best-of-five sets matches yet” the Roman wrote on Instagram when announcing his withdrawal from Roland Garros. Now the long-awaited return to the grass with the goal of Wimbledon.
