“Bocha” Batista misses the match against Jamaica

Fernando “Bocha” Batista will not be able to coach the Vinotinto this Sunday when they face Jamaica in the third round of the Copa América. The Argentine is the third coach to serve a one-match suspension in the continental tournament.

According to several reports, the reason Batista will not be able to be on the bench is due to a delay in the exit from the locker room to the field of play in the match against Mexico.

Batista’s place will be taken by his assistant Leandro Cufré. In addition, “Bocha” will not even be able to be in the dressing rooms to give a technical talk and has to pay a fine of $15,000.

“Bocha is very hurt because as a coach he is not in charge of the national team. We respect Conmebol’s decision and we have to accept it,” said Leandro Cufré in a press conference.
