Bandung – Persib Bandung coach Bojan Hodak has opened his voice regarding the full competition system that will be implemented in the Indonesian League 1 season 2024/2025.

Bojam is the coach who succeeded in bringing Persib Bandung to the League 1 championship for the 2023/2024 season. At that time the competition was still held in the Championship Series format.

However, for next season the competition format will be changed. PT LIB and PSSI agreed to run a full competition, without the Championship Series.

Regarding the system change, Bojan admitted that he had no objections. According to him, full competition can encourage clubs to perform well in all matches in order to become champions.

“If there is a team that really starts the league with the best performance in 34 matches, they will become champions,” he said, quoted from the club’s official website, Sunday, June 23 2024.

When asked about Persib’s record of never winning when the league was held in full competition, Bojan emphasized that this time Maung Bandung’s chance of becoming champion is still there.

The Croatian coach is optimistic that Persib can perform well next season to defend its championship title.

“There are always good things happening for the first time, as previously we had never won against Bali. Then previously there had never been a foreign coach who brought Persib to a trophy,” explained Bojan.

“So there is always something that happens for the first time and there are high hopes for next year (to become champion),” he concluded.

It is known that based on the official announcement some time ago, the Indonesian League 1 competition for the 2024/25 season will not use the Regular Series to Championship Series system and will return to a full competition system due to the busy schedule of the Indonesian National Team.
