Brazil Held to a Draw by United States in Pre-Copa América Friendly

Canarinha, the tricolor’s rival in the Copa América, could not win in a friendly game.

The preparatory friendlies of the participating teams of the Copa América 2024 continue and this Wednesday it was the turn of the Brazilian National Team, rival of the Colombian National Team in the group stage of the tournament.

The Canarinha faced the United States at the Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Florida and there they could not go beyond a draw with the team that will host the most important national team tournament on the American continent.

The Dorival Júnior team would start winning around the 17th minute of the game with Rodrygo Goes who received an excellent pass from Raphinha and inside the area scored with a left foot to beat goalkeeper Matt Turner.

However, nine minutes later, the United States raised their lines and there they found themselves with a foul very close to the area and there Christian Pulisic took a free kick that he converted into a goal.

In the second half, both Brazil and the United States had opportunities to win it. The South Americans would have options with Vinicius, Endrick among other players, but Turner was attentive to avoid being marked.

For its part, the United States had the chance to go ahead on the scoreboard with Timothy Weah who received it inside the area and took a left footed shot that came out very centered and allowed Allison to save what seemed like a goal.

With this tie, Brazil will now prepare for what will be its debut in the Copa América 2024 which will be against Costa Rica next Monday, June 24 at 8 pm.
