Vicious robbery in Manhattan, New York! Asian woman beaten with baseball bat on the street

The Chinese American Network reported that a vicious robbery occurred in New York (special topic) a few days ago. A 58-year-old Asian woman was attacked by two thugs with baseball bats while walking on the streets of Lower East Side in Manhattan.
The attack took place around 2 p.m. on Monroe Street near Franklin Avenue as the victim pulled out his phone to check it, according to the New York Post. The video shows the first suspect running up from behind and punching the unsuspecting victim in the back of the head.
As the victim stumbled into the wall of a nearby store, the second attacker began to repeatedly beat her body with a black baseball bat while his accomplice tried to snatch her purse. For unknown reasons, the attacker fled the scene without taking the woman’s belongings. The victim was then taken to a nearby hospital, where she was treated for bruises on her left leg and swelling on the back of her head.
Police are searching for two suspects, who are described as complete strangers to the victim. As of Wednesday morning, no arrests have been made. Police are urging anyone with information about the attacker or the case to come forward to assist with the ongoing investigation.
