[Message from the author to readers]
My name is Kobayashi Eiken, chairman of the board of directors of Kinki Medical College. Kinki Medical College, run by our school, is a specialized educational institution that trains nationally qualified judo therapists, acupuncturists, and moxibustion therapists, as well as sports trainers who utilize these qualifications. There are hundreds of vocational schools, junior colleges, and universities across the country that offer similar curricula, but there is one thing that Kinki Medical College can be proud of: the fact that top athletes and professional sports players are attending Kinki Medical College one after another.
In addition to my role as chairman, I am also an active judo therapist and acupuncturist who listens to patients with physical ailments and provides treatment. Currently, I have 45 osteopathic clinics across the country, treating tens of thousands of patients, and am working to be of some help to everyone, however small.
I have also been involved with the Japanese national team as a sports trainer since the Rio de Janeiro Olympics in 2016. Because of this relationship, many athletes and sportspeople still visit me today to seek advice on physical pain and ailments.
The greatest strength of Kinki Medical College is that lectures and practical training are given by judo therapists and acupuncturists with extensive experience in the field, including myself, who teach students carefully. Even if you open a textbook, memorize the knowledge, and attend lectures and practical training, you will not be able to save patients unless you are taught practical examples and know-how in the field at the same time.
In addition, at Kinki Medical College, you can take the “Kobayashi Style Correction Seminar” that I established while treating patients as a judo therapist. The content of this seminar is the same as that of active judo therapists and sports trainers, so you may be able to use it to help your patients sooner after graduation.
Of course, we are also working specifically on the national exam pass rate and employment rate, which are areas that other schools also focus on, and we aim to be “number one in Japan in all aspects.”
We hope that this book will provide useful information for those considering enrolling in our school and their families, as well as those aspiring to become judo therapists, acupuncturists, and sports trainers.
The first half of the book provides basic knowledge, then I write about the reasons and thoughts behind establishing our school. The second half shows the achievements of our graduates and provides easy-to-understand examples of how to deal with cases. At the end of the book, there is also a record of a roundtable discussion with our school’s principal, Nobuhiko Kiyohara, the founder of collective behavior, and our school’s vice principal, Satoru Higa, who is renowned for his work on university reconstruction.
It is our hope that as many people as possible who turn the pages and continue reading will choose to pursue a career as a judo therapist, acupuncturist, or sports trainer, and also choose our school.

Kobayashi Eiken
Chairman of the Board of Directors of Kinki Medical School Corporation. Born in Osaka Prefecture in 1958. After graduating from Kansai University, he worked as a banker before going to a vocational school where he obtained a license as a judo therapist. In 1985, he opened Kobayashi Osteopathic Clinic. In 1998, he invented the “Kobayashi-style spinal correction method.” He conducts educational activities for therapists across the country. In 2008, he opened Kinki Medical College, which trains judo therapists, acupuncturists, and sports trainers. As a sports trainer himself, he accompanied the Japanese team to the Rio de Janeiro and Tokyo Olympics. As the representative of Kobayashi Osteopathic Clinic Group Co., Ltd., he is also involved in human resource development at the 45 clinics of the Kobayashi Osteopathic Clinic Group. He has written many books, including “Sports Trainer: A Book for Those Who Absolutely Want to Become One” (Gendai Shorin).
