The sports season ends with another success for Calagurritano sports. ABQ Calahorra has won the La Rioja Basketball League in the 2023-2024 cadet category.
The mayor of Calahorra, Mónica Arceiz, and the Sports Councilor, David Antoñanzas, held a meeting with the champion players; his coaches Javier Jiménez and Óscar Luis Sánchez; and the club delegate Eduardo Villar in the plenary hall of the City Council.
Mónica Arceiz congratulated them on their latest title and for the “magnificent season that you have had and that has allowed you to qualify this year for the Spanish Cadet Club Championship and for the Basque-Navarra-Riojana Basketball League.”
He continued “you have carried the name of Calahorra throughout all the fields in Rioja and northern Spain. Calagurritan athletes are magnificent ambassadors of the city. With your efforts and successes you are making Calahorra known and projecting its image.”
The young players have given a personalized ABQ t-shirt with their name to the mayor, who has received it with great enthusiasm and gratitude.
“We are committed to sports and support Calagurritan athletes. We need your collaboration to carry out the sports revolution that we want for Calahorra,” highlighted the mayor.
