“We are growing and I am proud of how we are working in the factory, with great concentration and I hope we can get even closer to others”. It’s a confident Lewis Hamilton who presented himself at the drivers’ press conference in Montreal, where the Canadian GP will take place on Sunday, on “an almost urban track, which is suitable for those with an aggressive style”, underlined the driver of Mercedes. “The car is now more stable in corners and we can now take them more easily. But the balance is still missing”, he added, announcing an “update for both W15s and I can’t wait to see the sensations we will have” .
The Ferrari drivers were not present at the press conference, but Oscar Piastri from McLaren and Sergio Perez, fresh from his renewal with Red Bull, were among others. The young Australian declared that his team feels “we can fight among the favourites”. “It’s exciting to fight for the top and we know that victory is now within our reach – he added -, especially after the last three races which have been positive”. As for Perez, he hoped “not to have the same problems as Monaco. I expect to see a stronger car, the others are also making progress and we must do the same”.
