CBJ Intensifies Final Preparations for Brazilian Judokas Ahead of Paris Olympic Games

The Brazilian Judo Conference visited the clubs to understand the individual needs of the athletes and develop a final training plan for the team. In addition, the technical committee of the Brazilian team adopted a strategy to promote the exchange of judokas from different countries. The objective of this strategy is to expand the variety of training techniques and prepare athletes to face opponents of different styles.

Sogipa already has Daniel Cargnin (73 kg), Rafael Macedo (90 kg), Leonardo Gonçalves (100 kg) and Mayra Aguiar (78 kg) guaranteed in Paris. Meanwhile, judokas Kathleen Cuadros (63kg/Sogipa) and Natasha Ferreira (48kg/Sociedad Morgenau), who are still awaiting confirmation of their places, are training intensely in Rio de Janeiro for the Team Brazil CT. They have teamed up with Rafaela Silva (57kg/Flamengo) and are training individually with Brazilian coach Andrea Berti.

LAST STOP BEFORE PARIS

However, next week the Olympic judo team will meet in São Paulo for field training at the Esporte Clube Pinheiros facilities. This will be the team’s last camping trip to Brazil before traveling to France on July 18. Part of the team will also participate in international training in Benidorm, Spain, before the Games.

With these initiatives, the CBJ tries to ensure that Brazilian judokas arrive in Paris in the best physical and technical shape, that is, fighting for medals.
