Artenay. Badminton activities at the swimming pool. On a sunny Saturday, the regional badminton committee organized an introduction to “air bad” at the Artenay intercommunal swimming pool. The athletes also tested para-badminton and discovered the inclusive practice of this sport.
This day dedicated to Paralympic disciplines was part of the Centre-Val de Loire region tour “Take part in the games”, in the presence of David Jacquet, regional councilor and mayor of Artenay. These events, subsidized by the Region, aim to introduce different sports and encourage people to take up sports, especially among young people.
Cédric Grosjean, director of the regional badminton league, took the opportunity to present the “Bad for all” bronze medal label to the local club. This label rewards the ABC for its dynamism and its actions aimed at developing equality between men and women in the practice of badminton in the rural sector. It will now be displayed in the Artenay intercommunal gymnasium.
This year, the Artenay badminton club has nearly a hundred members, in parity. Three teams are involved in the departmental championship and the club allows children to play in competition.
Please note that the air badminton court will be accessible all summer long at the swimming pool. The equipment is made available by the club.
