After the game, the team celebrates on the field together with their coach. As the players slowly disappear into the catacombs, Nagelsmann goes back to the stands. Inside the Frankfurt stadium, the 36-year-old meets his girlfriend Lena Wurzenberger.
Nagelsmann hugs Wurzenberger. They kiss for the first time. Then a second and a third. They both beam together and enjoy the moment of togetherness.
ARD expert Bastian Schweinsteiger sums it up succinctly: “It’s a time for smacking.” Moderator Esther Sedlaczek replies with a smile: “Yes, it’s nice.” The world champion has nothing more to add to that.
Nagelsmann didn’t manage to get three points against Switzerland – but he was still assured of three kisses from his Lena.
