Chancellor and Secretary of the Navy seek investors in the US for the Isthmus Interoceanic Corridor – El Sol de México

The Secretaries of Foreign Affairs, Alicia Bárcena, and of the Navy, José Rafael Ojeda, promote with United States authorities the development of the Interoceanic Corridor of the Isthmus of Tehuantepec (CIIT) as a new investment opportunity in various manufacturing branches and in logistics services that will contribute to strengthening the competitiveness of the North American region.

Through her social networks, the head of Mexican diplomacy shared that this Friday they met in Washington with Amos Hochtein, senior advisor to President Joe Biden, to promote one of the flagship public works of the government of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador and discuss topics such as global infrastructure and energy security. National Security Advisor Elizabeth Sherwood-Randall also participated in the meeting.

“Proud to present with Secretary @AltiranteSri the great project of the Interoceanic Corridor of the Isthmus of Tehuantepec to the public and private sectors of the (US). Without a doubt, the #CIIT promotes growth for everyone in the south-southeast of Mexico,” he shared on his X Bárcena account with a series of photos with members of the US Chamber of Commerce.

In his message, Bárcena added that during the meeting the proposal that Mexico is making to connect the commercial flow of the Atlantic with that of the Pacific through the CIIT was explained to American businessmen.

“The corridor will encourage development with 10 designated industrial parks, promoting a wide range of industries and creating significant employment opportunities. Likewise, it offers tax incentives, such as income tax discounts and VAT refunds, to companies that establish operations in said industrial parks, promoting investment and economic diversification,” the Foreign Ministry stated in a message posted on its website. official account of X.
