Assistant Jaroslav Barvíř joined the head coach on the substitution and young forward Maroš Jedlička, who had already played in Komet, joined the attack. Head coach Kamil Pokorný was given a free hand by Zábranský and agreed with Barvír. “They have worked together for a long time and know each other perfectly. He is a heartthrob, a fighter, and I am glad that we have him in the implementation team. I don’t count on further arrivals or changes,” said the owner of Kometa. He has never worked directly with Barvír, but has known him for a long time. “All the coaches have my trust,” added Zábranský.

Its ranks were expanded by the twenty-one-year-old talented striker Maroš Jedlička, who already played in Brno eight years ago as a teenager. “We were looking for a young, aggressive striker and we found him in Maroš,” he said.

According to Zábranský, they also want to bring a top defender to Brno. “However, the market here is weak at the moment, so we have to focus on abroad as well. This is the floor for Tomáš Vincour, who deals with it daily, watches videos, evaluates recommendations and offers from agents. We are not only talking about Canada or America, but also Sweden or Finland. We will see how the situation will develop further, but we are aware that we have to expand the defensive ranks before the season. For the goalkeepers, we are about to announce one resounding reinforcement,” Zábranský confirmed earlier information.
The attack is strong, Zaťovič will remain the boss of the cabin
On the contrary, he is apparently not planning any more reinforcements for the attack. Even if, according to the owner of the club, there was some bad luck, he believes that it will not particularly affect the performance of the team. Martin Zaťovič, who recently extended his contract in Brno, should remain its captain. Zábranský and Pokorný talked about his role as cabin boss, and the Kometa boss does not expect any change. “You can’t stop age, but it has to be said that Zaťa did a lot of work in Kometa and he deserves respect for it. Given his experience, his leadership position is solid. He himself claims that he still has work to do in the club, he wished to continue and I, in turn, wished to keep him in the team. Now it will only be up to him, how he prepares for the season, and also up to the coaches, what role they will give him,” said Zábranský.
The coaches are satisfied with the preparation
According to him, the coaching staff is satisfied with the course of the summer training, and especially with the attitude of the players. “No one is injured, which is one of the indicators that the training sessions make sense and are of good quality. The players do not have problems with attachments, joints or any muscle restrictions, so everything indicates that they will be perfectly prepared. They still have tests and then a well-deserved break, which will be followed by the ice,” added the Kometa owner. And he confirmed that the friendly matches will be played by the Brno hockey players outside the Winning Group Arena, which is awaiting roof reconstruction. Her condition is not as bad as it was estimated. “According to optimistic predictions, we could start freezing at the beginning of August, but that does not automatically mean a change in the organization of individual preparatory matches,” added Libor Zábranský.
