Changes in the Lineup: Adam Polášek Leaves Třinec Steelers for Litvínov

After the championship season, Adam Polášek, a thirty-three-year-old defender, is leaving the cabin of the Třinec Steelers, who played a significant role in winning gold medals in the playoffs. Next year he will play for Litvínov. The two January signings for the playoffs, Petr Šenkeřík and Adam Helewka, will not continue at the club either.

Experienced defender Adam Polášek is leaving the Třinec Ocelář team after a year, the thirty-two-year-old champion’s contract expired on April 30. He will work in Litvínov in the new season.

“I’m very happy that I got a chance in Třinec before the season. I came here wanting to know the magic of a winning team and I was lucky. I’ve been waiting for team success my whole career, it was the first time in Třinec and never in my life I won’t forget that,” says Adam Polášek.

Polášek came to Třinec from Sparta before the 2023/24 season, and in the playoffs, he played 64 games for Ocelář with a balance of 8 Canadian points (2+6). Even due to a large number of injuries, his greatest moments came in the elimination fights, in the decisive seventh final he played over 22 minutes on the ice and had a significant share in winning the Třinec title.

“Adam Polášek fulfilled exactly what he came to Třinec for. We thank him very much for his services and wish him the best of luck in his next engagement,” said the club’s sports director Jan Peterek.

Defender Petr Šenkeřík and Canadian forward Adam Helewka are also saying goodbye to the Steelers. The first-named managed to play only three games in the regular season after his last-minute arrival. However, he played 14 duels in the playoffs and was an important element on the way to another title.

Helewka played a total of 24 games for Třinec, scoring ten points in them. Especially important were his two goals in the semi-final with Sparta. “We also thank Peter and Adam for their services. They only came at the end of the regular season, but both are leaving as champions. I wish them all the best in their future careers,” adds Jan Peterek.

At the same time, the Steelers’ sporting director admits that the departure of striker Daniel Voženílek is in play. “Negotiations are currently underway. Vožuch has shown an interest in advancing his career. He has several offers from Europe and the NHL. It is likely that he will not continue in Třinec.”
