After an abundant week of balanced competitions, the 2024 College World Series comes to life in Omaha, Nebraska with the final best-of-3 series that will decide who between Tennessee and Texas A&M will win the NCAA title.

The two finalists arrive undefeated at the final stage, demonstrating their strength and completeness of personnel and how the Southeastern Conference, to which they both belong, once again confirms itself as the best in the NCAA baseball panorama.

The underdogs lean on the side of Tennessee, author of a fantastic season and ready to finally dispel the curse of the number 1 seed in the final NCAA tournament which has not won since 1999 when it was Miami’s turn.

For the boys led by paisà coach Tony Vitello, the opportunity to put the seal on an exceptional season with the record of 58 victories obtained and win the first NCAA title. To reach this goal, Tennessee will rely on its lineup led by the absolute star, second baseman Christian Moore (.385 batting average and 33 home runs on the season) who in the opening match against Florida State hit for the cycle, the second player in the College World Series history to accomplish this feat. Precisely that against the Seminoles was the most competitive game for Tennessee who came back to win 12-11 in the ninth inning with a walk-off single by the fielder Dylan Dreiling, another important element together with third baseman Billy Amick, at first base Blake Burke and the pitching package led by starters Zander Sechrist and Drew Beam.

The pitching mound itself, with the fantastic quartet of Justin Lamkin, Chris Cortez, Evan Aschenbeck and Ryan Prager, is Texas A&M’s strong point and will try to keep Tennessee’s bats at bay as it did in these College World Series with those of Kentucky and Florida, beaten with a clear score of 6-0 in the decisive match for access to the final series despite the two hits of the Gators star Jac Caglianone, in his last game in College baseball before arriving in professional baseball .

For the Aggies, also chasing their first NCAA title, the absence due to injury of star Braden Montgomery, who arrived this year from Stanford, will weigh heavily, but the collective led by receiver Jackson Appel and right fielder Jace LaViolette will try to make up for the its lack.

The starters for game 1 have not yet been announced but Texas A&M certainly seems to be the team most in difficulty given that it will not be able to count on its two best pitchers Ryan Prager and Justin Lamkin returning from the matches against Kentucky and Florida.
