According to the report, the 26-year-old will be joining on loan for the next season from second division club 1. FC Nuremberg – and will be hunting for goals for the team of new head coach Thomas Stamm (41).

The attacker is no stranger to the Black and Yellows: Between 2020 and 2022, the Swabian native played for the third division club, making 75 competitive appearances. The 1.89 meter tall attacker scored 27 goals and provided nine assists.

In the 2020/2021 season, Daferner contributed to the team’s promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga with his skills and goal-scoring ability, scoring twelve times and setting up seven goals.

The following year he again proved his ability to score goals, but his goals were not enough to prevent the team from being relegated to the third division. He then moved to the Franconians in Nuremberg. Now he is making his comeback at the Rudolf Harbig Stadium!

“We are very pleased that we have been able to strengthen our team qualitatively with Christoph Daferner and thus significantly increase the competitive situation in the offensive area,” explains SGD Managing Director Thomas Brendel (48).

Dynamo’s new coach knows the strengths of the new signing: “He can certainly help us and the whole team with his quality and experience from the second and third leagues and, on a human level, with his down-to-earth nature and absolute will to work hard, he fits in very well with the group,” Stamm praises the striker, with whom he already worked in Freiburg.

“The way he plays football corresponds exactly to what we imagine the club’s playing philosophy should be.”
