On the 19th, the city held a spectator evacuation drill in preparation for a safety accident at the air dome installed in Songam Sports Town.

The training is to prepare for the welcome event for the International Taekwondo Championships, which will be held at the Air Dome starting July 3.

The air dome, which was installed at a cost of 12.5 billion won, is approximately 11,000 square meters in size.

It was originally scheduled to be completed last year, but the completion was somewhat delayed due to issues such as supply and demand of materials during the construction period.

The auxiliary facility is 700㎡ in size, and the interior is used as a soccer field (about 9,000㎡), a warm-up area, and a badminton court (2,000㎡).

Through this, it is expected that we will be able to attract a nationwide training team.

Chuncheon City plans to use the air dome for various large-scale events held in the region in the future.

In addition, in the event of a disaster, it is planned to be used as an on-site situation room, ward, and evacuation facility.

An official from Chuncheon City said, “Ahead of the large-scale event, we conducted training to encourage quick evacuation of visitors in case of a safety accident.”
