Clermont announces the arrival of nine players

Clermont did not wait long after the end of the Top 14 regular season to formalize the signing of nine new players on Monday.

ASM Clermont, 8th in the Rugby Top 14, formalized on Monday the arrival of nine recruits for next season. The Clermont club, beaten in the semi-final of the Challenge Cup by the South African team Sharks (32-31), failed to qualify for the final phase of the French Championship.

If all the players recruited come from the training channel (JIFF), seven of them will join the forward pack. Two left pillars, the Georgian Giorgi Akhaladze (Béziers, ProD2) aged 25 and Sacha Lotrian (Perpignan, 23 years old) have signed respectively for two and three seasons.

Two right pillars, the Samoan Michael Alaatoa (Leinster, Ireland), aged 32, and Régis Montagne (Grenoble, 23 years old) have signed up for two and three years. Hooker Barnabé Massa from Grenoble (20 years old) is committed until 2027, as is second row Thomas Ceyte from Stade français (30 years old).

On the other hand, the German 2nd line from Brive (22 years old), Oskar Rixen, a JIFF, signed for two seasons, until 2026. Finally, in terms of the back lines, the center winger, Lucas Tanzi (26 years old ) from Toulouse has signed up for two seasons while the contract of winger Kylian Hamdaoui (30) from Stade français runs until 2027.
