Aaron Rodgers’ decision to miss the New York Jets mini-camp, whose attendance is mandatory, draws a torrent of criticism from analysts and columnists.
Jets head coach Robert Saleh tried to calm things down by explaining that Rodgers had plans that were “important to him.” However, according to Colin Cowherd, Rodgers is currently on vacation outside the country.
Panelist Nick Wright of FOX Sports was particularly vocal in calling Rodgers “one of the most disingenuous athletes of our time.”
I know some folks think that any Aaron Rodgers criticism is about a vaccine decision from 4 years (that basically only Aaron still talks about), when in reality it’s about him being one of the phoniest, most disingenuous athletes of our lifetimes. pic.twitter.com/ry2IvfVGJe

“If only Aaron Rodgers was as concerned about football as he is about his anti-science conspiracy theories, the Jets would have a chance. Well. Some things will not change,” lamented Jason La Canfora on X.
If only Aaron Rodgers cared about football as much as he did conspiracy theories and anti-science the Jets might have a fighting chance. Oh well. Same as it ever was

Acquired last year by the Jets, Rodgers missed almost the entirety of last season, seriously injuring his Achilles tendon on the fourth play of his team’s attack in the first game.
The Super Bowl winner has left no one indifferent since the start of his career, whether because of his controversial positions during the pandemic or for his spiritual journeys during which he consumes a powerful hallucinogen, ayahuasca.
