Corentin Moutet Withdraws from Wimbledon Due to Injury

Corentin Moutet will not play the Wimbledon tournament this year. Supposed to be opposed to the Australian Alex De Minaur (seeded number 9) in the first round on Monday July 1, the 25-year-old Frenchman announced his withdrawal this Friday, due to “bone edema” which bothers him ” since (his) preparation for Roland-Garros”.

Eighth finalist at Porte d’Auteuil, Moutet was forced to prolong his break in the face of pain that “persisted” despite treatment. “This decision was not taken lightly, but it is necessary so as not to compromise my participation in the next Olympic Games in Paris,” he added in his message posted on “X”.

In three participations (2019, 2021 and 2023), Moutet has never gone beyond the 2nd round of Wimbledon.
