CUNEO – Archery: Cuneo hosted the 2024 Regional Target Championships
About one hundred archers from the Campound and Barebow divisions competed at the Paschiero stadium. On Sunday 30 June it will be the Olympic division’s turn
The first of the two Cuneo events dedicated to the 2024 Regional Target Archery Championships, reserved for the Compound and Barebow divisions, took place on Sunday 23 June in Cuneo. The organization of the four local clubs, Arclub Fossano, Gruppo Arcieri Monregalesi and Arcieri di Cuneo, led by the Arcieri dell’Elice, was supported by the administration of the City of Cuneo, which made the city facility of the Stadio Fratelli Paschiero available.
Around 100 archers were on the shooting line for the 72 qualifying arrows, followed by the overall team, mixedteam and individual matches, despite the rain and autumn temperatures. Leonardo Costantino (Arcieri delle Alpi) is the overall champion in the men’s compound, beating Marco Tosco (Arcieri delle Alpignano) in the final 146-145, third place for Danilo Chinotti (Arcieri delle Alpi). In the women’s category, title for Francesca Aloisi (Arcieri Iuvenilia) over Gelsomina Di Michele (Arcieri delle Alpi) 146-123, third position for Giulia Di Nardo (Arcieri delle Alpi). Stefano Reggiani (Arcieri Conte Rosso) wins the individual title in the men’s naked bow by winning 6-2 in the final against Alessandro Di Nardo (Arcieri delle Alpi), while Ferruccio Berti (Arcieri di Volpiano) closes on the podium. It’s a derby again for the women’s Arcieri delle Alpi, Elisa Medico beats Marta Pavan 6-2, third is Alessandra Tessari. (Arc. Collegno).
In the compound teams, the Iuvenilia Archers (Aloisi, Corgiat Loia, Depaoli) won in the men’s team 230-227 over the Alpignano Archers (Frassati, Tosco, Tosco), with third place for the Alpina Archers (Chinotti, Rovera, Costantino). In the Mixed Team, the Iuvenilia Archers (Aloisi, Aloisi) won again 152-149 over the Alpina Archers (Di Nardo, Costantino), with third place for the Collegno Archers (Martinetto, Della Sorte). The Conte Rosso Archers (Gambino, Quagliotto, Reggiani) won the barebow men’s team title by beating the Alpina Archers (Di Nardo, Morra, Rosso) 6-0, with third place for the Varian Archers (Montanaro, Quaranta, Romano). In the mixed team final, the Arcieri delle Alpi pair (Medico, Morra) prevailed 6-2 over the Arcieri di Volpiano (Berti, Schettino), with the Arcieri Collegno duo (Tessari, Belmonte) completing the podium.
