Cus Catania Shines at Regional Championships: Athletics Team Takes Home Gold

Cus Catania experienced a weekend full of satisfactions, in particular for the Athletics team which won medals at the Absolute Regional Individual Championships held at the Picanello School Camp in Catania. Federica Prazza took first place in the 400m with a time of 56.79, while her sister Giorgia Prazza took gold in the 800m with a time of 2:10.93. In the high jump, Chiara Gulli won with a jump of 1.55. Rickalia Goss won the 100m with 12.32, followed by Gaia Denaro with 12.48. Nicholas Battaglia also excelled in the men’s 100m with a time of 10.87. Desiree Di Maria triumphed in the 5km walk with a time of 25:52.18, while Rickalia Goss placed second in the 200m with 24.98. The Cus boys also achieved excellent results, with Francesco Bruno second in the 5000m and Matteo Pelligra third in the 400 hurdles. Yaroslav Reuka took second place in the discus throw (2 kg) with a throw of 39.75.

In team sports, the Cus Catania Softball girls won both matches against SSD Unime, 7-0 and 14-0 respectively. Excellent performance also for the Baseball boys who beat the Sicily Red Sox 13-8.

Furthermore, the captain of Cus Catania Canoa Polo, Davide Novara, took part in the Italian national team’s expedition to France to participate in the ECA Cup, which ended with the conquest of a silver.
