Cyclist Vacek was just second in the time trial at the start of the Tour of Belgium race

Only the favored Sören Wärenskjold beat Vacka on a flat course with a start and finish in Beringen. The reigning champion of Norway, who won the time trial at the Round of Belgium race last year, dethroned the continuously leading Czech cyclist from the front with a time of 13:24 minutes. It reached an average of 53.740 km/h.

Vacek, a native of Beroun, was two seconds short of his first victory among professionals in the time trial. He has two mass start race triumphs, a stage at the 2022 Tour of the UAE and last year’s national championship.

Vacek took the second place today with a significant lead, the third Rune Herregodts from Belgium lost eight seconds to him. The top ten was completed by former Czech time trial champion Josef Černý with a distance of 21 seconds.

The 93rd edition of the Tour of Belgium will end on Sunday in Brussels. Last year, Vacek was ninth overall and won the jersey of the best young rider; he wore it today too.
