Czech endurance women will run to the streets of Rome, hurdlers want to reach the semi-finals

Rome (from our correspondent) – The two Czech endurance women who are already certain to start at the Olympic Games, Moira Stewartová and Tereza Hrochová, will run the Half Marathon, with 21 kilometers and 67 opponents waiting for them. The start is near the Coliseum, the finish at the Olympic Stadium.

The qualification for the high jump is also waiting on his field with the home favorite Gianmarco Tamberi. Jan Štefela, the comet of the indoor season, also wants to fight for the promotion to the finals, but he was hampered by injury and completed only two starts in the summer with a maximum of 220 cm.

His rival and friend Marek Bahník will have his premiere at the big event, who won the nomination at the last minute with a limit of 226 cm.

Five Czech sprinters will strive for the semi-finals. While Ondřej Macík already has a certain participation in the next round thanks to his commitment, Eduard Kubelík and debutant at the top event Tomáš Němejc have to fight for him.

Nikoleta Jíchová is the only representative of Czech athletics among the hurdlers. She was also accompanied by health problems during the preparation, but at Zlatá tretra she showed that she is on the right track and will want to at least follow up on the semi-final participation from the last European and World Championships.

The Czech men’s quarter-distance hurdlers will run three times. Vít Müller has the highest ambitions, having already performed in Rome in the mixed relay and advanced to the semi-finals at the European, World and Olympic championships. Martin Tuček also made it to the semi-finalists at the last championship in Munich, and Adam Smolka is waiting for the premiership at the championship.
