Dallas Cowboys Training Camp Itinerary and Expectations for 2024

FRISCO, Texas – Training camp is closer than ever for the Dallas Cowboys and the rest of the NFL, and while the itinerary for this year’s trip to Oxnard, California is still being worked out, the organization knows when they expect everyone to be there. .

The trip from Dallas to Oxnard will begin July 22-23, with both rookies and veterans due Wednesday, July 24; and the Cowboys hope that includes All-Pro wide receiver CeeDee Lamb, who was absent from OTAs and mandatory minicamp due to his contract status.

The date and time of the first practice have not yet been determined.

The team won’t depart Oxnard until Aug. 22, making it the longest California camp in franchise history, one that includes two preseason road games before returning to North Texas for the finale. preseason matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers on Saturday, August 24.

They are also scheduled to train against the Los Angeles Rams before they meet on Sunday, August 11, with a visit to the Las Vegas Raiders scheduled for Saturday, August 17.

Needless to say, this is one of the most important training camps in recent memory for the Cowboys, whether from the perspective of the contractual status of head coach Mike McCarthy and several within his coaching staff (e.g., Mike Zimmer is on a one-year contract) and some staff contracts; the latter could include All-Pro quarterback Dak Prescott, should a new deal not be reached before the start of the regular season.

Prescott and Co. increased their intensity in mandatory minicamp, albeit within the restrictions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement, and that intensity will likely carry over into training camp.

With so much at stake in 2024, McCarthy won’t find anything less acceptable.
