Dallas Mavericks show interest in Jerami Grant and Tobias Harris

The Mavs seem to be looking for additional experience and scoring on the wing. According to Chris Haynes (Bleacher Report), Dallas, along with the Pistons, Pelicans, Spurs and Jazz, is interested in Tobias Harris, whose expensive contract (5 years, $180 million) with the Sixers expires this summer.

While the Mavericks and Pelicans cannot match the other named suitors in terms of financial flexibility, they could offer the mid-level exception, which will be worth just under $12.8 million next season. Harris averaged 17.2 points, 6.3 rebounds and 3.1 assists in 70 games for the Sixers last season on 48.7 percent from the field and 35.3 percent from downtown.

Ian Begley (SNY) also learned that the Mavericks are considering a trade for Jerami Grant. The 30-year-old is under contract with the Trail Blazers until at least 2027 for $32 million per year, plus he has a player option for another year. After leaving the Nuggets in 2020, he developed from a top defender into a real scorer.

Portland is rebuilding and will likely trade its veterans, including Malcom Brogdon, Robert Williams III and perhaps even Anfernee Simons and Deandre Ayton. Grant contributed 21.0 points and 2.8 assists on 45.1 percent from the field and 40.2 percent from downtown in 54 games for the Blazers.
