On Sunday June 9, the Aude clubs of Carcassonne, Castelnaudary, Limoux, Narbonne as well as Hérault teams from Béziers and Pérols met at the Stade de Montredon to participate in the departmental archery championship. The competition, organized by the Archers de l’Aude club, brought together 68 archers of all ages in good spirits despite weather problems linked to wind and showers.

32 rounds during the day

In the morning, the shooters participated in the competition with 16 rounds in international distances of 20 to 70 meters depending on age before continuing in the afternoon with 16 rounds in national distances of 20 to 50 meters depending on age. ‘age. In terms of results, the Carcassonne archers left with 19 podiums including 13 first places out of the 32 rounds on the program. The competition was preceded by a minute of silence in tribute to Michel Petiot, former president of the Archers de la Cité club for 19 years and recently deceased.
