Immersed in the preparation of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games with France, Evan Fournier also has to simultaneously take charge of other businesses.

The veteran shooting guard has been performing below expectations for several seasons in the NBA. With less than fruitful spells in New York and Detroit, quite far from his version in Orlando, the Frenchman will have to face a new and uncertain future in the league.

According to the latest information from James L. Edwards III of The Athletic, the Pistons would reject the $19 million option in Fournier’s contract for next season, which would make him an unrestricted free agent.

The Motor City franchise is in the midst of a rebuilding process and it seems that Fournier is not part of their plans. At 31 years of age, the Frenchman still has a market in the best league in the world, but his skills and experience do not go unnoticed by the most important European clubs.

This season, Fournier averaged 7.2 points in 18.7 minutes in a total of 29 games played, coming off the bench in the vast majority of them.
