Divine Miansadi Intensifies Preparations for Paris 2024 Olympics in Kinshasa

With the Paris 2024 Olympic Games in perspective, Divine Miansadi is intensifying her preparation in Kinshasa. The leopard swimmer is doubling her efforts one month before her participation in the Olympics.

At the Halle de la Gombe, Miansadi participated, Saturday June 15, 2024, in the Kinshasa swimming championship “Challenge Oleko”, where she competed to prepare for the upcoming Parisian games. This championship, organized by the Kinshasa Swimming League (LINAKIN), was in its second edition. She won a silver medal in the 50 meter breaststroke and a bronze medal in the 50 meter freestyle. These races allowed her to get in shape for the Olympics, although she felt a mixture of hope and skepticism about her performance.

“Disappointed. But on the one hand, I learned a lot from this championship. For the Olympics, I’m quite stressed because there’s a lot of pressure, but I don’t let it get to me. I train every day and I hope it pays off. The preparation so far is not enough, but with another month to go, I can do better. Regarding the conditions, we work according to what we will have to face in Paris. We changed frequency, I now train for 60 meters instead of 50,” she told us.

Miansadi and his teammate Yves Muntu, who will represent the DRC in the senior women’s and men’s events in Paris, have been subjected to unorthodox preparation since their return from the Luanda Open. Their supervisors had to readjust and adjust the work schedule, nourishing the hope that they will perform without complexes in the large Olympic swimming pool of the City of Lights.
