Djokovic and Lajovic Confirmed for 2024 Paris Olympics Tennis Tournament

Djokovic is in the third position in the ATP ranking. Among the Serbian tennis players, Dušan Lajović, who is ranked 56th in the world, will also compete in Paris.

“Djokovic and Lajovic have fulfilled the ATP ranking conditions and confirmed their participation in the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris,” the Serbian Olympic Committee said in a statement.

The Serb pulled out of the French Open before the quarterfinals less than two weeks ago after suffering a knee injury in the round of 16 match. He also underwent surgery shortly after to deal with the injury.

Djokovic, who will be making his fifth Olympic Games, won a bronze medal in tennis singles at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, but settled for fourth place in mixed doubles in Tokyo after losing in the semifinals. Lajović will make his Olympic debut in Paris.

The tennis tournament of the Paris Olympic Games will begin on July 27, a couple of weeks after the Wimbledon championships. At the Olympics, tennis players will compete on the courts of the French Open Championship.
