Dominican Republic Delegation on Track for Paris 2024 Olympic Games

According to Miguel Camacho, head of delegation of the Dominican Republic, the critical path to the Paris 2024 Olympic Games has been 90 percent completed.

“Everything has gone as established,” said Camacho, who assured that the delegation that will represent the country in the Olympic event is practically formed.

“The classification has yet to be defined in some sports, such as athletics, judo and swimming, which will occur in the coming days,” added Camacho.

The sports leader spoke about the topic during his participation in the Dialogue of the HOY newspaper, which he attended in the company of the president of the Dominican Olympic Committee, Garibaldy Bautista and members of the mission headquarters.

Resources on time.

Camacho highlighted that an element that has had a decisive impact on ensuring that everything “is running to the letter” is the timely delivery of resources.

“That has been a concern of the President of the Republic, Luis Abinader, who is aware that the important thing is not to have the resources, but that they arrive with enough time for the preparation of the athletes and to be able to organize a participation worthy of the country in the most important multi-sport event in the world,” he said.

“That has been a policy of President Abinader since he assumed the presidency of the Republic, to deliver resources in sufficient time for all the events in which the country has participated, something historic, because in the past it was different,” he stated.

First advanced departure

Camacho reported that the first advance of the Dominican delegation will leave for Paris on July 10 and that two days later, on the 12th, it will enter the Olympic village.

In addition to Camacho and Garibaldy Bautista, Juan Febles, technical director, participated in the Dialogue; Julio Florentino, transportation; Marcel Vidal, registration, José Paulino, operative; Heyda Joaquín, medicine and José Luis Suero.
