Tennis pro Dominik Koepfer will not be able to play at Wimbledon: The 30-year-old canceled his participation one day before the grass court classic was due to start. Instead of the world number 66, Frenchman Luca van Assche will challenge Italian Fabio Fognini on Monday.
Koepfer recently suffered an ankle injury and had to miss the preparation tournament in Eastbourne. “He wanted to try everything to be able to play in Wimbledon,” national coach Michael Kohlmann told SID. But there wasn’t enough time.
