Draw Martínez with an “argent” choice and the romanticism of Lisandro, Alexis and Nico González

It was a special night on Wednesday for several of the members of the Argentine National Team. It is that, for the first time since the beginning of the America Cup, they were able to share with their families and partners an area other than a concentration. After passing through Atlanta and New Jersey, the Albiceleste landed in Miami and that coincided with a night of free choice for the footballers, many of whom chose to show it on their social networks.

One of them was Emiliano Dibu Martinez. The world champion goalkeeper from Mar del Plata had a more ‘argent’ choice than his saves with the albiceleste shirt. Along with part of his family and friends (his wife and his children were in Birmingham for Santi’s sixth birthday, the eldest) he sat at an Argentine grill.

The fans who were in “Liberty Parrilla”, among whom Mauro ‘Gato’ Formica could be seen for example, went out of control due to the presence of Dibu. With great kindness, the goalkeeper with 30 unbeaten goals in 41 games with the Albiceleste took photos and signed autographs. Among them, even the journalist Tato Aguilera appeared, to whom he put his stamp on the white T-shirt he was wearing.

Licha Martínez, Alexis Mac Allister and Nicolás González chose something more romantic. The man from Entre Ríos, one of the six players who played all the minutes in the victories against Canada and Chile, shared a photo with his wife Muriel López Benítez. “The perfect night,” she described in an Instagram story, in which she focused on the starry Miami sky.

Mac Allister and Nico González chose to spend the evening together, sharing a table with their partners Ailén Cova and Paloma Silberberg. As seen in a series of Instagram stories, they chose some pasta ‘alla ruota’, which consists of placing cooked pasta inside a cheese wheel to spread it on.

Both players, who emerged from Argentinos Juniors, had good performances at the start of this Copa América. It was the Pampas ‘Colo’ who also played all the minutes played so far, first as an inside player and being a key player in unblocking Canada with an assist to Julián Álvarez, and then as ‘5’ against Chile.

The versatile left-footer from Italy’s Fiorentina was fewer in number of minutes, but very productive: he started as a starter against Chile and was one of the highlights on offense, with even a shot that burst goalkeeper Claudio Bravo’s crossbar.

Both could rest next Saturday against Peru, thinking about the quarterfinals of the Copa América. That duel will be on July 4 in Houston (if group A wins) or July 5 in Arlington (if second).
