DRC Men’s Tennis Team Faces Tough Competition in Davis Cup Qualifiers

The men’s tennis Leopards from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) take part in the qualifiers for group 3 of the Davis Cup in Luanda, Angola. They were drawn alongside their Kenyan, Rwandan and Burundian counterparts.

After taking 2nd place last year in Kinshasa during the group 5 qualifications, the Congolese Fauves are now tackling this group 4 with a lot of ambitions although the preparation has been approximate given all the financial constraints especially . This federation receives almost no state subsidies and struggles alone to transport athletes to take part in tournaments across the continent. It will be difficult in front of valiant opponents, notably Burundi who took 1st place in Kinshasa last year, but they remain hopeful of putting in a good performance.

For the first explanation, the Congolese will rub shoulders with their Kenyan counterparts this Wednesday, June 19 with the aim of already taking an option to allow them to begin these qualifications with confidence.
