A female driver is overtaken by a BMW with flashing blue lights at the Mundelsheim junction. She recognizes the vehicle at a gas station in Großbottwar. The driver and her companion had bought various alcoholic beverages.
Sunday evening at the Mundelsheim motorway exit: At around 7:50 p.m., a BMW with flashing blue lights is driving along the main road towards Großbottwar. A road user notices the BMW overtaking her vehicle with the conspicuous warning light on the roof of the passenger side switched on.
A little later, at the gas station on Nelkenstrasse in Großbottwar, she recognizes the road user and the vehicle and notices that the driver and her companion buy various alcoholic beverages, get back in and drive away again with the blue lights on.
There is still no trace of the passenger
The woman alerted the police, who eventually found the 37-year-old driver of the BMW at the owner’s address. The officers noticed the smell of alcohol on her breath. A voluntary breathalyzer test showed a value of around 1.8 per mille. She had to undergo a blood sample. In the BMW, the officers found the illegal blue light in the passenger footwell. The investigation into the unknown passenger is ongoing, the police said.
