Dutch National Team’s Line-Up Revealed for First Euro Championships Match Against Poland

The Dutch national team will play its first match against Poland at the European Championships next weekend. According to Algemeen Dagblad, national coach Ronald Koeman already knows how he will play.

Due to the loss of Frenkie de Jong and possibly Teun Koopmeiners, there is a lot going on in midfield. The pair would normally start against Poland. Jerdy Schouten, Joey Veerman and Tijjani Reijnders will now probably form the midfield.

The defense will in any case consist of goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen, captain Virgil van Dijk and Nathan Aké. Stefan de Vrij seems to be playing instead of Matthijs de Ligt. At right back it is Denzel Dumfries who is preferred. Lutsharel Geertruida will therefore have to bench.

Memphis Depay will play as a striker, while Cody Gakpo appears to be the left winger. It is still unclear who will play on the right, although Xavi Simons seems to have a good chance. Donyell Malen and Jeremie Frimpong therefore remain on the bench.

The expected European Championship line-up of the Netherlands: Bridge; Dumfries, De Vrij, Van Dijk, Aké; Schouten, Veerman, Reijnders; Simons, Memphis, Gakpo.
