Denmark meets Germany in the last 16 of Euro 2024. Team Dynamite is determined to achieve their first victory in this event.
Germany vs Denmark took place at Signal Iduna Park, Sunday (30/6/2024) early morning WIB. Germany advanced with the status of Group A champion and Denmark was the runner-up of Group C.
Denmark progressed to the knockout stages with three draws. Kasper Hjulmand’s side, along with Slovenia, were the only teams to draw in the group stage but still qualified for the last 16.
The success of surviving the 2024 European Cup by always drawing is not entirely enjoyable. That’s what Hjulmand felt and was determined to win against Germany as the host.
“It’s a bit bittersweet. We really want to win. We want to have the feeling of winning – the best feeling in football is the feeling of winning,” Hjulmand was quoted as saying on the official UEFA website.
“I think we did everything we could to take the initiative and attack. We lacked sharpness in the final third, also lacked luck and perhaps lacked the quality to make it happen in the end,” he continued.
Even though they haven’t won, Denmark is still happy to have qualified. The coach emphasized to enjoy it and then be ready to fight in Dortmund.
“We have to enjoy it first. Then we will look to the next goal on a fantastic Saturday night in Dortmund,” he stressed.
