Eight Salvadoran Athletes Secure Tickets to Paris 2024 Olympics

San Salvador, June 28 (Prensa Latina) Eight Salvadorans have already secured their tickets to the Paris 2024 Olympic event, the El Salvador Olympic Committee (COES) confirmed today.

Swimmers Celina Márquez and Nixon Hernández joined the list of attendees at the sports festival in the French capital, thanks to an invitation card, according to the governing body headed by José Armando Bruni, who could continue to lead the organization in the next elections.

The swimmers join the Salvadoran delegation that will participate in the XXXIII Olympic Games in Paris 2024, from July 26 to August 11, and will be made up of Uriel Canjura (badminton), Jairo Moreno (judo), Enrique Arathoon (sailing), ûscar Ticas (archery), Israel Gutiérrez (shooting) and Bryan Pérez (surfing).

Although El Salvador’s history with the Olympic Games is long, since Mexico 1968, the Central American country is one of those that has not yet won a medal on the largest sporting stage in the world.

Her best finish was fifth place, achieved by cyclist Maureen Kaila Vergara in Atlanta 1996.
